CUBA a poor land, a wonderful warm land with hospitable people sharing the little they have.

Food on the street was tasty and cheap. Buying an icecream from a portable machine 4 cents. On a street corner a Pizza oven 8 inch pizza 20 cents. The best treat was a pork roll carved from a whole pig 3 cents. Local beer if you had your own one litre plastic bottle 7 cents.

The grand building in Havana where the once democratic Government sat was magnificent. Spanish influence can be seen in the white building now a yacht club

This poverty stricken old lady took us into her house and gave us coconut milk to drink. Not an isolated case---wonderfully hospitable people

He was so amazed we bought the 6 rum bottles full of honey that he gave us the basket too.

The numerous festivals were exciting and colorful always with ‘officials’ sitting in seats whilst the populace stood

The many National Parks with expert guides made seeing the 37 endemic birds Cuba has an easy experience. Yvonne was delighted with all the new birds she saw. Pictured is an endemic iguana (see birds fotos)

Dominos played by slamming them down was seen at many corners and on stairways

The fishing fleet moored off a poor village. The boats like everything else are Government owned.
